Pre production
Here is a shot of me referencing the pre production material whilst filming to ensure that the needed vision is being met for the short film. Here I am using the story board in order to know what part of the narrative in which we are on as well as to know what shots in which is required within the narrative.
Camera and lighting
Here I am setting up the lighting for use of a three point lighting shot that we are going to use within the short film as well as setting the appropriate camera settings so that it may be appropriately used. Here I am setting up one of the can lights so that the shot being used will be directing light in the direction in which I wish it to as well as sorting out the settings for its use so that it be used properly. This three point lighting shot is used in order to highlight to the audience the sorrow in which the main character is feeling over the case and emphasise how it is consuming his life denoting to the audience that he may yet be too dedicated to his cause. Here we are sorting out the lighting in order to get the controlled effect in which we wish to use in a scene this is so that during the short film it will make the audience have a certain reaction to this scene. Here the direct lighting is going to be used in order to draw the focus of the character to the main focus within the narrative as they are looking at the case files in which they are going through.
Props
Here are the props that are being used within the movie that are used to convey the genre of thriller crime as weapons are used to connate theme of the genre. These props have been used so that when they are seen by the audience they will be able to connote violence as well as conflict that would be occurring with in the narrative.
Creatively
Here I am using the mind map in order to evaluate how well the shot will be creatively used within the filming process and whether or not it will be able to meet the needed requirements. This is so that when we are filming the shots of the film they will be able to create the image in which is envisioned for the short film and be used effectively.
Risk assessment
Here I am instructing Marcel to not be placing the camera in that position due to the risk assessment warning of the dangers that placing the camera there possess. This is to be compliant with the risk assessment as well as the necessary health and safety regulations that would need to be considered.Audio Equipment
Here i am using the mobile phone in order to record some audio on set. This is so that we may use this within the short film and have better audio to use rather than that from the camera which could prove problematic.
Evidence of editingSound
Here I am sorting out the music that is being played within this shot and ensuring that it can be heard whilst also ensuring that it does not overpower the audio that is presently there. This is so that when being watched both audios are separate from one another and can easily be heard.
Clip Length
Here I am editing the clip length of this shot to ensure that it fits within the designated time slot in which we had allotted for it. This is to create the idea of there being a stand off between the two characters and having the shot therefore at the correct length is important in order to create the needed effect in which is desired within the film.Adding in text
Here I am adding in text at the end of my part of the editing in order to signify the end of the film. This has been done in order to allow the audience watching to know that it is the end of the film as well as to bring them a little shock to them.
